| KLINZING LEGISLATION WOULD
RELIEVE 3M BOTTLENECK
ST. PAUL — State
Representative Karen Klinzing (R-Woodbury) is the chief author
of legislation that would relieve traffic problems in and
around the 3M campus in Maplewood.
Klinzing’s legislation would fund the
interchange project for Interstate 94 at Century Avenue and
McKnight Road — commonly referred to by frustrated commuters
as “the 3M bottleneck” — through the authorization of $40
million in capital bond proceeds.
“Woodbury residents, including myself, are
sick and tired of sitting in traffic delays that keep us from
our families and work,” Klinzing said. “As growth continues in
the eastern suburbs, the gridlock on I-94 around 3M gets
worse. We need to do something now to fix this bottleneck, and
that is why this bill is the first piece of legislation I’m
authoring as a state representative.”
State Senator Brian LeClair (R-Woodbury) is
co-authoring Klinzing’s legislation in the Senate.
