Representative Karen Klinzing Files for Office

STILLWATER, Thursday, July 27, 2006 – Representative Karen Klinzing went to the Washington County courthouse to file for candidacy, official launching her re-election campaign.  Karen’s three daughters, Kathleen, Emma and Marie eagerly watched their Mom fill out the necessary paperwork, even little 10 month old Marie wanted to help fill out the forms.

Klinzing is a Minnesota native and has taught in a Minnesota public high school for 14 years.  She realizes that Woodbury citizens care greatly about their family and their children’s future, which is why she focuses on improving education and keeping families strong.  Last legislative session, Karen helped eliminate the marriage penalty tax, saving Minnesotan families $200 million. Klinzing also authored a bill to increase funding for early childhood family education and another bill that appropriates money to evaluate student assessment and achievement.  Klinzing says that “high-quality education enriches our children’s lives forever, they are America’s future, and we must give them all the necessary tools, so they can one day, live out their American dream.”
