Rep. Klinzing is the chief author of a new law passed during the 2004 session
that allows students with severe food allergies and other conditions to carry
epinephrine — a life-saving medication — with them in school. Students can now
carry “Epi-pens” with them at all times or have access to non-syringe injectors
of epinephrine provided by their parents if they are too young to administer the
medication themselves.
